iDBUS wants to offer its passenger the best possible service. That is why we have gathered as many points of view as we have clients. Historians, sociologists, and ethnologists have all stood around the cradle of iDBUS. And because the English, Belgian, and Spanish hold different views on travel, a difference that also applies to Frenchmen from the north or south and Paris, iDBUS is multicultural. iDBUS CAPTAINS

iDBUS captains are much more than just drivers; they are responsible to a large degree for the quality of the journey and the relationship with iDBUS passengers. They are at the heart of the organisation and the service, and are both brand ambassadors and the people who guarantee a successful passenger experience. In order to carry out this essential role, they need to be easy-going, show proof of solid driving experience, and be able to communicate with their passengers in both French and English.

Selection

After being recruited based on their CV and a first telephone interview, candidates for the position of Captain are subjected to a battery of 6 tests on 4 subjects: English, personality, psychomotricity, and logic. The objective is to check their technical, relational and linguistic skills. They then have 2 interviews, the first with the recruitment manager and the second, decisive interview with an operations manager. The ‘savoir-être’ of the candidates is a key criterion in the selection procedure. In a situation where people have the same level of experience, iDBUS will automatically choose the person that has a stronger sense of service. By the end of 2012, iDBUS will have recruited 100 captains.

Training

Captains have to guarantee the safety of passengers, and be ambassadors of the essence and the quality of the iDBUS service. To ensure they do, and are, all captains follow a 2-week training course that includes theory as well as practice, via several different simulation exercises.

Values and policy of iDBUS, range of services;
On-board service, tools, etc.;
Driving tests, simulations, gestures and procedures in the event of an incident or accident;
Familiarity with the route.

Tools

To ensure their mission is successful, captains are provided with coaches equipped with the very latest technology such as geolocation and permanent contact with the PCC, a true iDBUS control tower that operates 24/7. Thanks to their PDA, they are able to check passenger boarding. And finally, due to their uniforms in iDBUS colours, passengers have no problem identifying them.
